Antique Questions Forum / Do you think this is Silver?
« on: March 12, 2014, 12:28:15 pm »
I picked up this silver jug, and I'm not sure if it's Silver, or just metal, there are no markings telling me it's Silver or Silver plated just the following markings:

WH & SBP
HARD SOLDERED
RP483231

Any ideas what these markings mean??

EBay Forum / Re: Ebay International Sites Work-Around
« on: January 24, 2014, 12:30:15 pm »
Love it :) I've never tried it on other sites, but often contact buyers who offer no delivery. They have never said no to delivery yet and as you say the competition is zero!

I also hunt down people who sell items with a bad title, for example the other day I brought something with the title "unwanted gift". Which nobody really searches for.

I usually add these type of sellers to my favourites!

EBay Forum / Re: Rash of Ebay buyers trying to choose price?
« on: January 24, 2014, 12:24:55 pm »
I'm guilty of messaging sellers and asking them for a better price, sometimes they don't reply, sometimes they say no, and sometimes they come back a few days later asking if I'm still interested in that price.

"if you don't ask you don't get"

regarding the Auction vs BIN, this is pretty tricky, when I started ebay I would list 90% of my items as auction but now it's the opposite, I usually only have a very small margin of profit with ebay fees, paypal fee's, taxes, time spent. When auctions turn out bad and you get way lower than you expected it's sole destroying lol

Lately I've been listing items as BIN over 30 days for the highest price possible, and then lowering it every 10 days or so, I don't mind waiting for a bigger price. Plus if you have an ebay shop you can run sales too which I need to do more of.

EBay Forum / Re: Buyers who don't leave feedback
« on: January 24, 2014, 12:18:00 pm »
When I sell something on eBay I include a business card thanking them for their purchase, a link to my website and also asking them to leave feedback (and I will do the same). Last year I had around 800 sales and probably close to 680 feedback left, which is pretty good.

I set up my eBay account to automatically leave feedback when someone leaves me positive feedbacks, saves you time :)

Thanks for everyone's help, especially bigwull.

I never hid any information though, I listed the item after misreading bigwull's research (taking it literally) apologise for that.

I updated the item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231140417417

Thanks again and have a good weekend all

I was wondering if anyone knew where this bowl came from and if I could translate the name to do some research, it looks like it's hand en-scribed to me. Please let me know what you think?
