Antique Questions Forum / Re: Can anyone tell me what this is

Perhaps someone can answer this question. All the buggy lamps that I have seen on ebay have a hole in the bottom of the box with a wick coming out. I understand these lamps were lit. But mine has a flat bottom. This makes me think it was altered for some reason. The plate on the bottom does not come out. It's also aged which leads me to believe that IF it had been altered, it was done long time ago. My question is, does anyone have any idea's why there is a plate inside instead of the usual hole for the wick?

I just found out what it is. It's a carriage/buggy lamp. I see them on ebay.

Does anyone have any idea what this is. It's brass and pretty heavy. The glass on the inside is very thick. This is all one piece. nothing comes off. Nothing screws off. There are no holes. There is only the one door that opens to this solid piece.

They stand 8 inches tall. From shoulder to shoulder is 2 inches. The open part at the bottom is 4 1/4 inch long by 2 inches. These measurements do not include the mounting loops on the side.

I see no markings on them. But I do see a tiny hole on the back of each one which looks like it was put there purposely. One hole is obvious but the other is clogged.

Hello, I was hoping that someone might know what these are. I purchased these Bronze Pan Figures at the Brimfield Antique Show in Massachusetts around 1987. I paid $200 for them. The person who sold them to me did not know what they were, only that they were bronze.

There is a piece that sticks out on both sides of each pan which looks as if you would put a nail or bolt through it to secure these figurines to something. They are 8 inches tall and very heavy.

I would love to know what these are! Also, if you think they have increased in value since purchased.

Thank you for any help.
