Yes I have searched all over the internet trying to get pictures of the Helm to no avail. The lady is going to try to contact someone in Germany who may help and yes that is a good idea getting the will as the lady who inherited the wheel did the will for her. I hope she mentioned it was the wheel from the Grille. Thanks

I have acquired the ship's wheel from the S.Y. Grille Hitler's yacht given to him in 1938 by the German people. I need to see if anyone has pictures of it while installed on the helm. It was acquired by Harry C. Doan when he acquired the rights to scrap the ship. He died at age 78 and left it to he wife Mrs. Harry Doan. She in turn died and left it to a friend of mine in her will.It is about 46" in diameter.

I would say it is embossed because it is definitely layered.

Here is a closeup picture of the most damaged spot.

I found my other 2 signs.
They are Veedol and Tydol, and in much better condition. I might hang onto them. I hung them in my bedroom for a few years growing up.

That was actually very helpful. Thanks.

I can be like one of those people on antique roadshow that gets all excited about what it's worth. lol

I knew porcelain signs were worth money because they seem to make such a big deal out of them on TV, but I don't really have any idea about them. I posted those pictures on another car forum and one guy immediately offered to buy it in Washington.

I have two other smaller oil company signs somewhere (hope they are in my attack and didn't get stolen).

I will take a closeup picture and maybe someone can tell me the exact porcelain type.

Hello,

I am looking to find a value of this sign. I would like to sell it.
It is 6ft x 21in

It came from a dilapidated shed in Santa Rosa California that I demolished, and has been sitting in storage (in Nevada) for the past 15 years.

Thanks
