Antique Questions Forum / 1800's tobacco LONG Pipe

I have searched high and low for ANY information that pertains to these pipes. They were acquired in the 1940's by my grandfather in Germany. He found them in an antique shop and was told that they were given to retiring German Military Officers back in the 1800's. He said the writing on the pipe is likely the name of the Soldier it was presented to. The pipe is roughly 35 inches long. Pictures aren't that great, my apologies. "Opa" has bequeathed a ton of items to me, and these (2 pipes of similar size and look) are what has my most attention. Thanks!
