the chair is in my mothers garage at the moment so as soon as i get a chance i will check the screws and post a picture.
if it has arms does that not mean that it is an armchair?
if it is a 1940s chair do you know what value it may hold if restored?
thanks for the help

any idea on age or value of this piece. the interior wood is in good condition but what was left of the hinges where really rusted and looked pretty old. I'm guessing midcentury. thanks again

Antique Questions Forum / Re: any info on small wooden box

I was told that it was a jewellery box. but that could be wrong. the dimensions of the box itself excluding the height of the feet are, length 17.5 cm, width 12.5 cm and height 8 cm. the height measurement includes the lid and the base and the length and width measurement does not include the lip if the lid and base which would make it an extra 1 centimetre on each. the inside has no detail but i posted a picture anyway. thanks for your help.

i got this japanese puzzle box from my grandmother. it has two panels that slide back then the sides slide down and then a piece can be slid out to reveal a lock. it is missing the lock and hinges. iv seen many similar ones on the internet but none that have these exact designs. if the locks and hinges where replaces how much would the value be. and does anyone know how old it is. i think it is made from mahogany wood. is there anyway to restore some of the damage, like the scratches? thanks

Hi, i have this sculpture of an indian woman made of what i think is resin. I think she is playing a concertina? there is an inscription on it of what i think is an A B or possibly a H B. iv searched all hot words i can think of and can't find anything similar or the same. does anyone have any information about it or what the value of it may be?
