I just got this super neat, vintage Minispot 7800 light from a thrift store and I was wondering what the best/safest way to restore/use this light?

I have put an LED light in the light to test it,  (it works), but the light is super dim.
Is there a brighter LED bulb that I can use in this? If so, what model would you recommend?

If there is not a suitable LED light for this, and I were to put a halogen light do I need to replace any of the wires so it will not start a fire?

This would be super neat to restore and get back to its original shape.

Antique Questions Forum / Random Antique Pocketwatch Movement ID
« on: December 22, 2016, 09:34:53 pm »
I got one of these antique pocket watch movements cheap on eBay ($15) just for the fun of it. Maybe fix it up, maybe make a necklace / pendant about it. If anything, it looks good on my desk. :) Note that neat engraving that I have a closeup of on the movement.

My questions are what year (approximately) is this and what is the history behind this? Thanks! :)

I just got a good deal on an antique possibly 1700's (not sure though) pocket watch. It is marked D.D. Neveren London. I have photos of the watch and very close ups of the movement and the dial. I believe it is silver and has a ruby movement.

I was just wondering if anyone knows much about this watch? Especially the year.

I know this may not be the most valuable pocket watch in the world, but the fact it could be over 200 years old makes it really neat.

My second question is, it runs well, but it is very fast (3 minutes late an hour). Is there a way to slow down the movement? I see there is a place on the back that it may be possible.

Thanks a lot for your help!!

We were cleaning the garage and inside an old suitcase we found a ton of neat things including this Timex automatic watch. When shaken, the watch still works.
I had a couple questions about this. What year is this watch / the history behind it? It was found in a suitcase with items from the 1940s-1960s.
My second question is, how to I measure the watch so I can purchase a new band for it so I can wear it?
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the help!

I found this awesome little Motorola MP10CL Portable Record Player that seems to work well at a thrift store cheap and I was trying to do some research on this model, but I can't find anything on this anywhere online save an eBay auction that has an advertisement from this.
I was just wondering if anyone here knows anything about this? The only tip I can find is the model number on the back which says MP10CL.
Thanks!

I have an interesting question!

I bought a neat Univex Projector (1940s) with case at an estate sale and plugged into the pilot light AC port on the projector. I didn't know this was included with it until I got it home. I was wondering if someone could ID this? It seems to be bakelite and it has an art deco styling to it.

Thanks a lot!!
