I have a bowl that appears to be from Limoges (that style, anyway), but has no markings on the back at all. Any idea how to identify it?

Antique Questions Forum / calligraphy tea pot
« on: August 24, 2016, 04:10:26 am »
I have a Chinese tea pot with calligraphy, about 4.5" in diameter. Unfortunately none of my Chinese friends can read it. They say they recognize the word "tea" and that it has a signature and date. One of them sent pictures to a calligraphy club in Taiwan but apparently reading old calligraphy is a different skill from creating new calligraphy. Any ideas how to identify and translate this?

Antique Questions Forum / small blue/white plates

I have five small blue/white plates (Chinese?) with a fair amount of crazing, about 6" in diameter, with I believe Chinese characters on the back. Any idea what these are?

Antique Questions Forum / identifying imari plates
« on: August 24, 2016, 03:55:31 am »
I have eight Imari-style plates, about 7 1/4" diameter, which I believe is a bit smaller than normal. There are some imperfections in the glaze, such as at the top left in the photo, which from what I have read either means it is old or just poorly made. There are no markings on the back. Any ideas where these are from and when?
