I see no evidence of repair work. Also, no markings, initials, etc.   And, I would say almost certainly that it was
refinished at some recent time.
Thanks for the post  Liz

That's why I came here. I never thought of such things as the joints, etc.
I am about to send 2 new posts 1 for each table with some better photos.

Antique Questions Forum / assistance requested on some glass items
« on: October 24, 2010, 02:23:38 pm »
As I mentioned in previous post of a few minutes ago, I am in need of assistance. Am not familiar with antiques and have some items
I may want to sell.  Here are (2) pictures of glass items. A pair of lavender lamps and some purple glass.  Their former owner loved
the color purple...  Frankly, I have held on to these for some years because I know they meant so much to her, but I've decided to sell them hoping the a owner will enjoy them . They are no good sitting in a box in my closet...  The glass items are in very good condition. The wood at the bottom of the lamps have lost some of their gold.
Thanks for any assistance.  Liz

Antique Questions Forum / Question regarding 2 tables
« on: October 24, 2010, 02:07:24 pm »
As suggested by some of you, I am posting  pictures (2) tables which I inherited and can not use.  One a rather large end table
The second, a lamp table.
I must admit I am not familiar with antiques and don't have any idea what style this table I would say it is in
good condition. The end table has no noticable scratches, etc. and it appears to have been made by hand. I believe it is cherry.
The lamp table also seems to me to be in good condition and I also believe this to be made by hand.
How do I begin to set values?  Thanks for your help  Liz

Antique Questions Forum / some beginner research
« on: October 21, 2010, 03:44:09 pm »
I inherited a few very nice pieces of furniture and decorative glass that are very nice but not to my taste.
These are more of a country feel and just don't fit with my home . Before I think of selling them, I would like to
be a little more informed as to their value, etc. What would be a good starting point for me to begin some research.
Thanks Liz
