Antique Questions Forum / Any information on this plate?

Hi everyone,
I purchased this plate from a garage sale for $5 because I loved the look of it. Does anyone have any information about it because I haven't really seen too much like this and the history intrigues me.
The plate is approx 20 cm (approx 8 inch) wide and, as per the attached photos, is brown with an ornate design of what appears to be a grape vine on the outside and some pattern with an 8 sided star in the centre. On the back it appears to be inscribed with "L & C" and "20". The plate doesn't feel like it is made out of porcelain but i'm not 100% sure.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
