Antique Questions Forum / Glider rocker

I have an antique glider rocker chair with almost no obvious way ti identify what it is. The only marking I can find is on the metal brackets the glider pivots on. All four are marked PAT. May 29-88. If anyone has any idea what this might be I would greatly appreciate any input, or if you can guide me to someone who has knowledge of this chair. Thanks
