Hi,
I have a S&C china hutch and full dining room set circa 1952 (w/tea cart). The hutch is damaged. It was stored for a few months during a move and now both the lower & top pieces have longitudinal splits. These splits occur both on the joined/glued wood pieces and in the solid wood sections along the grain. My question is about the cost of repair. Would it be worth it to fix and does anyone know what that cost might be? (there are probably a dozen such cracks and I would imagine the entire top and bottom would need to be refinished after the repairs - even some of the doors on the lower part have cracked between the raised panel and the side trim)
Thanks for you help.
Bob
PS - the furniture is not with me, otherwise I would have included some pics
