Antique Questions Forum / Need Help Identifying

I found this chair and immediately saw through the exterior to the beauty beneath.  I was however surprised at what was there with just a light sanding.  It looks like red oak, but not sure.  I have done extensive searching and have found nothing remotely close, mainly because of the decorative wood and the casters on the front legs only.  I did have to remove all previous material, it had been outside for a few weeks, before I found it.

Antique Questions Forum / Rockingchair - Need help identifying
« on: April 27, 2008, 09:26:59 am »
I got this rocker at an estate sale (in this condition).  It was intriguing.  Any Ideas about its origin or age??  I have not, as yet, been able to find any markings of any kind.  Might be looking right over them though.

I have a dining table (and only 2 of the Chairs) that is 60" long x 43" wide, with a 12" leaf.   On the leaf insert there is a label (see photo).  From what i can gather it is for Himebaugh Brothers, but the only info I can find says they were in business from 1898-1927, and that they were in Jamestown, NY (western NY).  Anyone have any more info??  I plan to refinish it and possibly sell, but need to know if my trying to  do the work would be detrimental or if I should leave it to a professional.  Also wouldn't mind knowing what it might be worth.  Anyone who can help, THANK YOU in advance.
