Antique Questions Forum / WHAT ARE MY ANTIQUE STOVES WORTH?!? (PHOTOS POSTED!)
« on: May 27, 2008, 06:19:22 pm »
We moved into our home this past summer. It was built in the 1930's. Along with the purchase of our home came the hassle of two heavy stoves stored in an unfinished room off of our kitchen.
One is a coal stove, I believe. Although, I don't know ANYTHING about these stoves. I have been told it's a Heatrola. I don't know that either.
On the back of the coal stove there is a metal plate that says "Caloric Gas Stove Works ~ Phila., Pa and Topton, Pa ~ No. 216 B"
We live in the suburbs of Scranton, Pa so perhaps that is where the stove was purchased?
I wouldn't even know how to describe the thing if I wanted to sell it.
The kitchen stove, also, I know nothing about. The top is cast iron and flat. It's a little rusty. Says "Happy Thought" on the front.
Maybe that's the manufacturer?
Help! I want to get rid of these but don't want to be taken advantage of if these are worth more than I think! Thanks in advance! ANY input/help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!
