Antique Questions Forum / Menau china ?

Just a quick question?
I have found in my attic a set of dinnerware and the stamp on the bottom reads "Made in the democratic republic of germany" and the manufacturer seems to be Menau.
The complete set is white with a black floral design and gold around the rims.
Can anyone tell me if this is considered an antique set or is it a more modern set and what the possible
value of this could be.
My wife feels that 50 dollars in a yard sale would be enough and I just want to make sure before giving
it away.I have found many more items in our new home but this is the most pressing at this time and I
will be back soon to your forum with many more questions.
