Antique Questions Forum / Rocking chair - old or "newer?"
« on: August 14, 2008, 07:24:59 pm »
My wife and I picked up a Windsor-style rocking chair a few years ago at a tag sale. We're debating whether to keep it (small house) and are trying to determine its age. Here is what we know:

From our research, it appears to be a "Bow-Back" Windsor rocker as it has the extension behind the seat for additional spindles. The underside is attached with a few screws that definitely appear to be manufactured, so this leads us to believe that is simply looks old. The chair shows signs of repair attempts over the years as there is glue on many of the spindles. The seat is woven (and intact).

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeremy
