I'm in Chicago, can anyone suggest a good reputable dealer I can inquire with?

Thanks, got it, it's a Tapa Cloth probably of Polynesian origin.

Any idea on value?

Cheers!

Thanks, that certainly make sense.  Is this Tapa something that would have been made by American Indians?  If so, when, where etc.?  If no, whom, where, etc.?

This forum and its members is truly amazing!

Cheers!

Antique Questions Forum / Tapa Cloth - What's it worth?

This quite lovely textile is 3' X 4" and in remarkably clean and vibrant condition.  My wife, an artist, believes it is a natural material/canvas and was either hand-painted or hand-inked.  Really, we have no idea, we picked it up at a local charity shop because it was so pretty and interesting.

Thanks in advance for your help/insight!

Decent to average condition, my Wife did, however, re-cover the seats.

Thanks in advance!

We've had this thing forever and, at one time, were going to have it restored, but never did.  Don't even remember where or how we came to own it!

Completely original, including seat cover, as we found it in fair to average condition needing to be re-tightened and cleaned properly.

Thanks in advance!

This has been in my Family for many, many years and I've owned it for nearly 20 years.  Perhaps interesting, perhaps not, it was an original piece of furniture from The Calumet Hotel where the incorporation papers were signed for the Village of Riverdale, IL., not sure what year!

All original and particularly clean, the fret work on the door was broken off at some point, so I had it trimmed to where it is now and added the plexiglass to the inside to eliminate dust.

Any help as to value, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
