Not that it seems Celtic, how about the 3 Aspects of the triple Godess, having to do with the moon
phases, growing seasons or the three phases of a woman's life? Best Regards, Nicolle

Antique Questions Forum / Re: Native American bead work
« on: September 02, 2009, 01:33:48 pm »
Wendy, great pictures thank you.I actually do alot of Native Americam bead weaving passed down from
my Blackfoot Great Grandmother and Grandmother. I do put alot of pride and love in my pieces as they
are gifts from my past. My younger sons have shown interest my daughter not so much. Your bottom
necklace looks contemporary to me, the larger crow beads are plastic? Your loomed pieces are very
pretty, the green one seems to have a Sioux flavor to it. I'm not real familiar with the pink braided one.
Are these all made with glass beads and can you tell what kind of thread was used? I'll keep wracking
my brain for more info.  Best Regards, Nicolle

Hello, can't tell you who or  when, but can try to help identify some of the stitches. Your moccasin and
first 2 rosette necklaces look like they were done in the "forget me not" weave and the last looks like a
daisy chain. The rosettes are often made with an overlay or applique stitch. You're absolutely correct
about it taking many hours. Most of the stitches handed down from my Grandmother's are a one bead at
a time. If you could get close up of beadwork, maybe of more help as my eyes are not that great . May
also be able to tell if made on or off loom. Best Regards, Nicolle

Antique Questions Forum / Bar Pin

Hello again, hope everyone is well. Does anyone know anything about jewelry? This is one of my barn
finds. Is it even an antique? Have not been able to find any markings. Been trying to research coat of
arms jewelry. The metal is a brassy coppery color. The closure is a c clasp. Once again, thank you for
any iformation. Best Regards, Nicolle

Antique Questions Forum / Re: glass bottles with silver lids?
« on: August 10, 2009, 10:06:13 am »
Thank you kindly for responding. No, the smaller lid has no threads  and sits nicely on top of the bottle/
jar.  The glass has what looks like serrated edges on the sides. I found slightly similar ones while reading
and they seem to always claim they're crystal. At least the ones that were for sale. I think it's glass
and a pretty piece. Still wary about cleaning the lid though. It has a miniscule mark of some kind in the
lid, I might take it to my local jewelers and see if he'll  loupe it. Darn curiosity of mine.

The bigger bottles lid is sturdy and it's threaded. I really like the glass stopper. I was amazed at all
information out there just for bottles. I have lots of old medicine, pop and liquor bottles. Lot of work
ahead of me, looking forward to being a detective.

Thank You again for your time and I'm enjoying this site. It's very educational and humorous also.

Best Regards, Nicolle

I greatly appreciate your 2 cents. The larger of the 2 I think would stand up to a gentle cleaning, the
smaller one seems very "soft" around bottom edges. I personally like an aged look. I don't want them
to look brand new. Thank You so much for your time. Best Regards, Nicolle

Antique Questions Forum / glass bottles with silver lids?
« on: August 08, 2009, 06:08:46 pm »
Hello to all, managed to unearth these pretty bottles. They are so tiny, would they be considered bottles? The smallest is 1 3/8"x1 1/2" , the other is 2"x 1 1/2" . The tallest actually has the glass
stopper still in it fully intact. The larger one's lid is marked sterling on inside lid.  The other lid is
quite a bit softer, it looks like the floral design was pressed in. It seems very delicate and I don't
know what kind of cleaner to use on it if any. I've been reading how some say to leave it alone or
you'll ruin the patina. Do we want a patina on silver? Thank you for your time.
Best regards, Nicolle

Antique Questions Forum / Re: K.,T.&K Platter

Thank You for the welcome. I've really been enjoying this very much. I've been trying to familiarize myself with how everything works here and not mess it up, or be a pest. Everyone has been very kind
and helpful. I like to learn new things and try to educate myself before bothering anyone. I don't
want to feel like I'm taking advantage of somebody else's education or hard work, so I try to do as
much legwork myself. It seems to be a terrible addiction in the making. I've also been snooping around
some of the other posts and the humor in some of them is fabulous. Almost choked on my tea several
times!  Thank You Kindly. Best Regards, Nicolle

Good Morning. Yesterday when doing some research I was noticing how much was out there and the
popularity of it. I have to see if I have anymore of them and how much it matters whether there marked
or not. I appreciate and Thank You for time.  Best Regards, Nicolle

That lovely barn was in Western Pa. and I reside in S.C. Pa. now and the barn was torn down 20 years
ago. So these pieces have been in storage for almost 25 years. Will probably be moving within the next
year or so and might not be able to take everything with me. Down sizing. The K.,T.&K platter and the
Laughlin bowl are in good shape. Even if I can't sell the gravy boat  and the Stella Cliff platter, I'll enjoy
them and keep trying to find out more info. on them. I'm fascinated about that Cliff platter.
Actually I did dig a few more things out of storage today! I found 2 Anchor Hocking Jadeite saucers in
what I found out is the Alice pattern. One is marked with an anchor and one is not. Did lots of research
today. Also found a lovely floral patterned oval shaped bowl that says Germany on the bottom, and 3
pretty glass bottles with what look like silver lids. The one bottle has a glass stopper and a silver lid
stamped Sterling inside. There is something else in there, but I need to get a magnifying glass to see.
Fun but frustrating. The lids on the other bottles are very decorative florals. Will get pictures.
Thank you again for your time and patience with a newbie who knows next to nothing.

Best regards, Nicolle
