Antique Questions Forum / Re: Old Knife w/ Wooden Handle & Leather Sheath

It looks very similar, but mine does not look like something that would have been mass produced or anything like that. It seems to be homemade like the others said. It's not very ornate looking as opposed to something that would be made to look like a replica knife.

They're charging quite a bit for just one of those frames on the link you shared. I just listed mine over at iOffer for $199.99, but for anyone on here I'll give a better price. Thanks to all of you for the help!

The bottom is silver in color (not actual silver). It doesn't have the gold hue to it like the rest of it does. I can take a picture of it later on today.

These are made of iron. Any idea how much I should sell them for?

Aren't tole paintings made on tin or pewter? I'm pretty sure this is made on steel, because a magnet sticks to it.

I forgot to take a picture of this other one. It reads "Practical Science" & has an image of a dog on it as well.

I haven't posted mine for sale yet, but thanks for sharing that! It seems to be the same frame as both of the ones I have. The listing says "for portraits of those serving in that war in the Navy", so I am going assume that is the correct information.

Anyone have any idea? I know that the lion is at least 50-60 years old and should be worth something at least.

That would be great if anyone could figure out what branch of military it represents. I forgot to mention the little metal piece that props it up in place can move around, so this can be mounted on a wall as well.
