« on: January 28, 2012, 02:57:55 pm »
Does anybody recognise this cahracter, from an old time show or cartoon or anything? I am trying to figure out who it is, looks familiar, thing is it is stamped on the bottom with the word foreign and an imprinted letter ' C ' If it is not from a cartoon do you think it would have been for a set in a band grouping say?

I am stumped on this one too. At first I thought it was Topo Gigio from the old Ed Sullivan Show but its not.

Just believe it is a mouse decor piece....from the era when a mouse or mice were truly endeared (Mickey, Topo Gigio, Aesops's Fables, Mrs. Tittlemouse and many other Mouse characters from Beatrix Potter, etc.)
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

I think you are right. Back then they would respect licensing and ride the popular trend instead. I had a "gaucho hat and mask" when Zorro was popular. They could not call it Zorro.  Today they just knock things off and don't care.
