And copper cannot be used with many foods !! Anything with a high acid content reacts with the copper !!  Brass has been known to leach out toxic chemicals into the food at certain temperatures !!

I concede, I had apparently forgotten that it was items like the following that was responsible for thousands n’ thousands of deaths during the past 300+ years of America’s history.

I recently bought a brass (heavy) sauce pan with a pour spout and steel handle from a thrift shop here !! After reading about that stuff,,I decided it was not smart to actually cook in it !! Still sitting around here somewhere !!
