Green Eggs and Ham book

Hello,

I have a 1960 book club edition Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham book. I do not have the dust jacket and I was wondering if it is worth anything?

Any and all replies are much appreciated.

Unfortunately because it is a Book Club Edition it is drastically reduced in value from what I can find.

Who would have thought! I have to check mine, lol Hope mine doesn't say "book club edition" !

I'm surprised to learn this, I'll have to check the bookcase to see if we have an old copy too! I don't think that these ever had dust jackets.

Haven't got my eyes quite open yet, but one of the listings (maybe third?) on abe books specifically states in bold letters that it is NOT a Book Club edition. Now keep in mind I know nothing about books except how to read them

I learn something new every day! The big $$ ones in those links do have dust jackets, which is probably a huge chunk of the value. I wonder if theirs is also "A division of Random House" or just "Random House."

Those ones just say Random House, you can see in the last photo. Hmmm I don't know enough about books!

Book club editions and most "sets" are not worth very much, it's sadly true.  A note about sets -- if the books were designed to be uniform (such as the Harry Potter books, where the first editions have elaborate artwork on the dust jackets, etc), then a complete "set" of the first editions would be worth something!  When I'm talking about a set, I'm talking about a reissue of books sold as a set.  For example, how many of us got the "Little House" books as a set in the little cardboard case? -- great to read, and a treasured story for most of us, but financially, practically worthless.  Ditto The Franklin Library of Great Books, and such.

Okay, lol I have a "Green Eggs and Ham" The difference maybe this also, mine is not a book club edition, but it has no bookcover and that book specificly says 50 vocabularly words, and mine does not. It also doesn't say first edition. Other than that my book would look identical. Those few differences make my book not that book, boo hoo.
