I think these might be crystal pieces from an old sconce?

I acquired these pieces about 5 years ago from a family friend, his mother had passed on. So he gave me a box of some old stuff from her apartment and asked me if I would like any of it.

Among the tresures were what seemed to be old crystal sconces? I'm not sure though because I have always just collected bottles. I tried Google and came up pretty empty handed and I don't live near any Antique shops.

Can anyone point me in the right direction where I might be able to find out info on these crystal things?

They have no names, markings or serial numbers on them at all...

Actually these look to be from a chandelier (hanging ceiling fixture) rather than a sconce (conical wall fixture). They could also be from the shade of a table lamp, but I think a chandelier is most likely. These look identical to the ones that were 1950's era in the house where I grew up. I remember playing with them as a little girl. I could reach them if I stood on my parents bed! They were even wired in the same way and with the same octagonal piece on the top and the drop below.

How many of these do you have ?? Is there a hole in the bottom of the saucer shaped piece ??  Do those large rings that you have them hanging from go with it ??  I would say likely a chandelier piece !!

I can't imagine it not being an "open center".

duh, ya wouldn't want a dust collecting thingy like that hanging from the ceiling (if it had a closed center).

LOL !!  Might have been another way to ask but couldn`t think of it !!  Brain fog again !!  What I really wanted to know was the size of the holes !!

Yep !! I am an expert at making things worse !! Its what I do best !!  Logic was telling me that if it was from a chandelier the center hole would be smaller than if from a candleholder which was a passing thought !!  Sometimes my logic doesn`t match everyone elses !!

Or I should have said .... all us "great minds" are guilty of that because one has to have great "recall ability" for all the thing one has seen, bought n' sold over the past years in order to figure out "what is it".

Excellent way to put it Cogar !!  Sometimes though,, being a diabetic,,BS is a bit low ( blood sugar,,not bull manure) and although I know what I mean,, no one else does !!
