How Old the Rabbit Mold?
« on: May 31, 2012, 11:16:59 am »
This was another find a week ago. I paid 7.00 for it from a woman who said she used it and her mother used it. She was around 60. I am thinking 1950s but this is not my area. I have several old molds but they are the heavy tin deep kind. This one is shaped like a layer cake pan and the same size. It is also tin but still shows some of the galvanizing. I negotiated her down from 10.00. How old do you think it is and did I get a good buy? Thanks

That's very cool! I think you got a great deal and it would be fun to make Easter cake in that pan!

The other side look like this side but inside out and darker. Basically a cake pan. I will try to put it up in the morning. I would love to see a cake come out of it. White icing on the rabbit and dark chocolate on the rest. In my dreams that is gonna happen. I have been requesting a coconut custard pie for 25 years.  Still waiting

Put that in a Graham cracker crust and you got my favorite pie.

Hmmm...In my way of thinking, it isn't pie without two crusts. ;)
And the very best is apple with a hunk of cheese on the side. 8)
"...
De gustibus, 't is stated,
Non disputandum est.
Which meaneth, when translated,
That all is for the best.
So let the foolish choose 'em
The vapid sweets of sin,
I will not disabuse 'em
Of the heresy they're in;
But I, when I undress me
Each night, upon my knees
Will ask the Lord to bless me
With apple-pie and cheese!"

Are you from Vermont? That is the way they like their apple pie. I like a big scoop of vanilla ice cream

Frogpatch, you must be familiar with Vermont.  That is exactly how we eat it and some even heat it up!
