Cane seat chair
« on: July 19, 2012, 07:17:36 pm »
Just me again with this little cane seat chair.  Well I don't know whether it is cane or not actually - not sure of the different types of material used.  In any case plan to try and unload some of these miscellaneous items but would like any input on possible age, style and approximate value.  I don't want to list something at $50 if it is worth $5  LOL and vice versa.

Thanks for always helping.

Thats a country style rush seat !! Very different from cane !! Rush is a natural fiber although some of the later seats are a paper type !!  Don`t have as many problems with rush getting torn as with cane !!  They are pretty tough seats and are still made today !!

Would this be considered ladder back?  Maybe I will nix the $10 as what I am seeing listed on ebay or etsy are listed a bit higher.  Hmmm

I'd call it ladder back or slat back. It's rush alright. Nothing rare or exotic, but a nice "workhorse" chair that should net you more than $10.00.

Right !! ladder back or slat back !! If its a small size they are popular with doll collectors for display purposes !! I would put $20. to $25. I would say its probably mid century !!
