The Pub Bell
« on: August 15, 2012, 03:05:54 pm »
I live in a pub in Aberystwyth, Wales. It was built  in 1907 as an extension to the old pub that was next door called the shipwrights arms, on a street that used to be called shipwrights row, across the road from (you guessed it) a ship builders yard.
The bell has been here as long as we can remember but nobody really knows where it came from.  I was kind of hoping it was really old and had some history but from what I've found online its not that old George the 6th I think.
unfortunately it doesn't have many markings at all, I;d be grateful for any info anybody might have.
thanks in advance for your time.

I think you are right, the GR with the little VI is probably the reign of George VI (1936-1952)
