Brass & Marble Dancing Circus Lady Night Light...I think...
« on: August 15, 2012, 10:44:10 pm »
This piece is odd. It's a night light that does work, but I don't know anything about it. There are no marks, insignia, names, hints, etc. In fact, the only way to get to the light bulb appears to be by removing the felt on the base. It's an odd piece for sure. Even my client knows nothing about it. I'm not too concerned about the value, I'm just more interested in origin and age. It stands approximately 12 1/2" tall, and I do realize that the left hand is broken off.

Thank you.

I'm thinking you should be able to un-twist or un-screw to finial (figure) and the top portion will lift off the base

I think Cogar is right !! Unscrew the figure and should come apart from top to bottom !!  Probably 40`s or 50`s made in India from how it looks !!

Marble and brass? It's got a Deco look, 1920s or 30s perhaps. Too bad it's missing a hand.

If you could restore that hand, this piece would probably be worth some serious cash!

I was fixing to say it is alabaster!  Looks nicely made and the links prove it.  FIND THE HAND!!!!
