Cuckoo Clock - at least 30 years old
« on: August 24, 2012, 01:51:42 pm »

Hi. I hope I cant get few info on this clock thats been sitting at my place for years, in protected in bag and a box.

we had it on the wall at one point about 10 years ago and i remember it worked, and we got it down cuz it was frustrating. i now remember i have it, and i decided to find out if its worth something. pictures are in attachment, and i will give you data here, everything i see in writing with my own eyes.

my phone camera is bad so those details cant be seen.

I was gonna put it together to get it to work, but i dont even know how to. there are 5 pics in rar file, and 1 more on the side. i remembered after to take a pic of weight too. there is something on them, but i cant figure out what. something like 278, 80 K..

We need Pics,...as for age,..West Germany was only in existance from when the Wall went up..The Cuckoo clock making region in Germany is in the Schwarzwald..more commonly known as the Black Forest....and in Triberg there is a shop called The Thousand Cuckoo Clock shop....

there are so many clocks like these that monetarily would only be few dollars difference !!  black forest cuckoo clocks  and beer steins were the most popular items as souveniers !!  I have one too with different carving !!  hubby brought back from Germany after he came home from being stationed there !!

Ok.

So, If mine works just fine, could I get for it, lets say, 100 dollars for it?

I think its 30 to 35 years old, and I assume that kind of neither here or there. Its not antique, not something other people would like to own rather that the new one that looks similar to that. Or is there something to this peace that would appeal to someone?

you cant outguess the ebay buyers !! i would list it with a reasonable reserve and see,, but chances are half that amount might be closer to what you get !!  go to ebay and use the sort by feature and go to ending soonest and see if any are actually selling !!

This is a standard tourist item from, as Wull said, Schwarzwald.

In this down market, here in the U.S., $100 would be a very good price to get.
