Now that bookcase might be made of Live Oak but it doesn't look to me like it was made of either Red Oak or White Oak.

The shelves should have been mortised into the legs or affixed with dowel pins, not screws & plugs.

So some of us are in agreement...we would have it in the shed or garage,but not in the house....whilst others think is the dogs bollocks...and worth a fair bit.... ;)

I think this was a part of later cottage type furniture !! Not from the arts and crafts period !! Just in that style !! Probably late 40`s or 50`s !!

Yes,, Just because its in that "style" doesn`t mean its from that period !! Furniture like this was produced well into the 60`s !!  Many pieces wound up in lake or hunting cabins !!
