Does anyone know the approximate value of a silver, oblong bowl with a decorated porcelen bottom, stamped "Villroy & Boch" "Dresden", and a hand painted "1797" on the bottom?

I have searched for this based on what I think it looks like - I'm a web researcher, not an appraiser - BUT, I'm thinking you have a nice little treasure here - V & B is still in business - there's lots of history here, and, yes, your date COULD in fact be the date of manufacture - searches I've done show prices of even the 19th century items as $100 and UP.

So, where do we go from here?  A pic of bowl & backstamp posted to the site would be great - if the antiques experts don't chime in here, my best advice would be first, take great pics and haunt some antiques stores/malls where they specialize in porcelain, and European porcelain.
