Door Hardware

Digging in another box in the basement and came up with these pieces of door harware. I can't tell what it would be used on, I'm not sure all of the pieces are there to make a complete latch. One of the pieces says Stover Manufacturing Freeport, IL. Any ideas on age use and value?

The Stover Company ceased trading in 1942..therefore..th is latch etc..is at least 70 years old..

Yes, my parents have door hardware like this in their Colonial revival house, built in 1940. Can't say what the value would be, but probably not more than $20.00. Nice condition, though.

ghopper, how is the "thumb" latch activator held in place?

Am assuming it goes thru the slot in the top of the "door pull" handle.

You are correct, if memory served. I'm 3 hours away from their house now,  but I'll check next time I'm home.

there should be a small shaft that goes through the hole that will hold the latch in place,..see simplified latch same principle..
