Antique Piano
« on: December 22, 2004, 02:13:20 pm »
My friend owns a Cable Nelson upright #51008, and was wanting to know more about it, it's history, the age and the worth of it.  We think it's either mahogany or cherrywood, were not quit sure, it's beautiful and in superb condition (with the exception of needing some tuning).  Can anyone help us out, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

I have a 1913 Cable-Nelson upright player piano and 400 rolls of music...I had it appraised and was told about $1000 for the works....I feel that this is low and many music rolls are selling for ten dollars each.   Mine is made from mahogany.  The market in your area will determine the price better but I feel your paino is worth around $400.
