According to this post on Rubylane they're German made.

They also show up here on Pottery Dogs, a collection including Staffordshire, but not limited to. They can be found by 'clicking Show Collection' for 350 euros ($457 US).

Bear in mind, these are asking prices

The fact that they are ugly also make them cool to me. I like ugly statues and things and I know a lot of my family and friends who buy things sometime buy something because of how cool and in this case "ugly" it is. It is what I would call beautiful ugly.
Check this out... Probably at least 200 years old based on the amount of garbage that was in the dumpster around it.

When it comes to furnishings I follow David Thomas' philosophy: I live in an irony-free environment.

David Thomas is in the music group Pere Ubu. In case you were wondering.  ;D ;D ;D

Buyer beware...unless marked.  These items had been repro'd over and over again.  Needs "hands on" by someone in the know to know if they are quality made!

Same as the Ruby Lane pair.
$50

Give the auctioneer a mango.

$475
Older but the've still done well to get that much.

Seen English versions do four figures before but those in the initial post are mid late 20th.
