Bakers Rack ???

Hello everyone!!!

I have added to the collection.... and i couldnt be happier. I just wanted to share it with you guys and see if y'all have any information to share. The marking on the back says Haverty Dallas Texas and the numbers 2-23. Sifter and racks seem to be orginal.

Nice baker's cabinet! Love the dough bowl underneath by the way! I love these, ours is a "Possum Belly" style baker's cabinet and it's one of our favorite pieces of furniture in the house. Great find! I don't really have any info to add. I'm guessing 2-23 may be Feb 1923 or a model number.

Yeah, we always called them Hoosier Cabinets because so many were made by the Hoosier Furniture Company of Indiana. They started out as step back cupboards with pie shelves from what I have read. Then they evolved into the porcelain top bakers cabinet.

I remember Haverty`s Furniture store !!  As I remember they did not make furniture,, they were just a retail store !!  Had several locations in the Dallas area !!  Nice cabinet !!
