Spring loaded pub/kitchen table
« on: July 09, 2013, 06:01:33 pm »
Long story short, found this at an estate sale. I had no idea that it was spring loaded and I don't think the seller did either. Took it to numerous antique dealers and several mom and pop furniture stores. None had ever seen anything like it. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

I think you've got a table that was designed for use within an RV &/or a boat (esp because of the flange at the bottom of the pedastal) , livingwonka !

Could be or just a convertible type that raises to bar height !! I had a coffee table from the 50`s that was spring loaded !! Press down and release and it raised up to dining table height,, press down and push lightly and it was a coffee table again !!

It was one of those kidney shaped ones !! Wish I still had it,, had a lot of storage too !! I would love to decorate an entire house in 50`s retro !! As long as I don`t have to wear all those little aprons !! Or heels !!

Yep !!  Jeans, T-shirts and comfy shoes or boots !!  Used to have to dress everyday and deal with a bunch of insurance salesmen,, enough of that !!
