WWII Welcome Home Banners - What to do with them
« on: July 09, 2013, 11:26:14 am »
I found these rolled up in that same old trunk that I mentioned before. They are about the size or a magazine and are self explanatory. What can I do with them? I do not want to display them anywhere. The person being welcomed home passed away without any kids that I know of. I was going to put them out next Memorial Day but I am not welcoming home anyone. I would like to give them to someone who would want them instead of just putting it into my monthly charity boxes. Any ideas? Maybe a local VFW? I just want someone to take them for a good reason.

Here, there's a Vietnam Vets group that has a yearly fund raising auction. When I had my shop, I would put items like your banners aside throughout the year and donate them to their cause. I would always receive a nice thank-you letter, and felt like I made the right decision.

Bigwull - Thanks that would work but I no longer have an eBay account.

Rauville - We have one here. That is a good idea. I will see if they have a fundraiser. They have a lot of clothing drops around here and I think they picked up some unwanted household items once.
