Small Metal Shoe?
« on: July 10, 2013, 09:19:54 am »
This is a small silver plated metal shoe I purchased last week and I can't find another one like it. I think it may be a Lefton Shoe but I'm not sure. The Shoe measures about 3 1/4 Inches in Length and about 1 3/4 Inches in Height and it has no maker marks on it. I included a picture of it with a Lefton Shoe and the design looks very close.

Does anyone know who might of made this shoe and when it was made?

Thanks!
Kevin

Just have to ask....did you search INSIDE and out for any markings?

KC, yes I looked real hard inside and out under a bright light. Probably had a sticker on it at one time...

Wow Rauville, that certainly did nail it!  :) Thanks for finding that. Guess I'll get a hammer and a nail and nail it to a tree and put bird feed in it now! ;D

Hmmm, Japan, couldn't be too new I guess. Perhaps 60' or 70's maybe?

I was betting this was from the late 40's.  So, we know it was before 1961 when the business was dissolved according to CA records!

1961...Hmm? Yet it wasn't until July 1, 1963, that  Zip codes were announced as an optional use item. In 1967 they were made mandatory on Second and Third class mail.
