Help indetifying a metal plate
« on: September 09, 2013, 06:30:32 am »
Hello,

A few years ago I bought this metal plate in a flea market in Belgium. A guy who is familiar with these sort of antiques told my sister that it could sell for 400 €, but my sister wasn't too interested and didn't ask him what he thought this was.

The plate looks old, and there are a lot of details to it, there's even a stamp in the back but I couldn't find it anywhere online.

Basically I'm looking to find out what it is and it's history, and possibly how much it costs.

Thank you so much in advanced,
Lior

these images are useless....you will need to give us smaller images....i have a 24in screen and i still can,t see the whole plate...and for some of our members who have slower pc,s..they have no chance.....
I make no excuses,and no apologies....but i like a good Malt,

It's Belgian pewter, looks like a Liege touch mark. 18th century.

The price seems HIGHLY unlikely to me unless the coat of arms is important. Condition is against it, even though the work is excellent.

enquiries@pewtersociety.org

Tell them you want to know about the mark and that you are NOT selling the plate but it is family heritage

I would then contact a couple of Belgian historians or website regarding the heraldry.

Thank you so much, I will definitely do that.
Wow I'm pretty shocked that it is 18th century...

And I'm sorry but upload the pictures in a smaller size... I will try that again later.

Thank you so much
