Roll-top Desk
« on: September 09, 2013, 10:21:32 am »
I bought this roll-top desk from an elderly couple in 1972 and paid $100 for it. It also has a matching bookcase (the bookcase has sliding glass doors which I removed but are up in the attic), swivel chair and trash basket. I believe it to be oak. The desk top is 5'8" long and has a lot of wear on the top. What would be the value in today's money?

That's one of the larger secretarial type units 50`s or 60`s !! May work to your advantage since there is so much space on it !! Would be a perfect crafting area with storage !! It is oak !!

That's why the finish has some bare spots on the surface. I used it as a workbench for crafts and such years ago when I had the interest and ambition to do those things.

Ise member Standard Furniture.

I lived and worked in the Village of Herkimer for several years.

And I said "Village of" cause dats its official name.

Cause there's also .... East Herkimer, Fort Herkimer, Town of Herkimer and Herkimer County. ;D ;D ;D

And that's my trivia for today. ::)
