modified antique armoire
« on: March 09, 2005, 01:25:16 pm »
I am interested in an French antique armoire that has been converted to a curio cabinet.  Basically, the mirrored doors on the front have been changed to beveled glass and the inside wood shelves have been changed to glass.  The interior of the unit has been lined with a lovely fabirc, and lights on the inside (at the top) have been installed.
I like the piece for my home, since it affords me a good amount of space to display my china (some of the other pieces I have looked at, which are curio cabinets, have been significantly smaller).
Is it a mistake to invest in a piece that has been modified the way that this one has?
