Its cleaned up very well,it could be an emerald...but whats puzzling me is...the detail is very good for it...just to be made of a base metal...why would the maker go to such lengths to make it so well...for it to be of little value....ok, i know costume jewellery can be quite exquisite...but...i don,t think this is a bulk item....

hmm.. then what could it be? I took another close up on the back side. Could it be its not handmade?

There are many grades of emeralds and other stones !! Some very cheap and bought in bulk to be used in low end/costume jewelry !!
