Dining Room Table
« on: March 21, 2005, 06:01:27 pm »
I recently inherited a dining room table that stands 28" tall.   I compared it to my present dining room table that is 30 " tall.  It looks so short.   Did dining room tables used to be a lot shorter?

Hi........depending on the age of your table.......at one time there were no 'standards in the industry' like we know them today. Items were built at whatever the craftsman thought it to be...............on the other hand your table could have been cut down perhaps because of damage (wood rot, termites, etc.) to one or more legs.
