candlesticks need help
« on: March 30, 2005, 10:48:59 am »
can anyone help i have a pair of candlesticks possibly dutch but look french
i have tried to do research but have come up with nothing.
firstly i do not know what they are made off they are stamped antinum but this word maybe longer.
they have a raised stamp with DS in a triangle.
Also c in a circle which is either a copyright mark or 1912 dutch mark.
They are silver in colour but whiter, with 3 feet very ornate.
can anybody shed light or suggest different research resources
many thanks

might the word be "antimony"?  It's got a great antique look to it.  Please post back.  KB

Done some more research they are baroque/rococo style but that as far as it goes.Is there a metal called argentum and i know now that antimony is pewter but all the pewter candlesticks are very plain.

argentum is the latin word for silver
