Vintage Jewelry 1
« on: December 27, 2013, 10:45:43 am »
Greetings,

I took flash pics of the vintage jewelry I posted about earlier, and I am posting about those whose pics came out.

To those of you 'in the know', please advise of era and value. Where applicable, I have mentioned what--if anything--is stamped on the back.

Thanks!

Pics 1 & 2: nothing on back
Pic 3: "Kramer" on oval
Pic 4: nothing on back

This should help on the Kramer broach !! The Green pin at the top looks to be 40` or 50`s !! Little one at the bottom may be 20`s or 30`s !! Would help to see the backs of all !!

Mart,

I did take pics of all fronts and backs--55 in number-- on my little Sony Cyber-shot, but they came out REALLY blurry.  I'll break out the 'good' camera when we have a sunny day. That way I won't have to use the flash.

Make the flash is off. They are good brooches. Are you planning on selling them? There are plenty on eBay. Have you looked? It depends on how you plan on selling them. I can't tell you an exact price because it depends on how badly someone wants something. The first brooch I might ask $50-$65. The second brooch is even better. I would try $75.-$95.. But, I would check eBay and see how things are selling. Sometimes auctions are better just put a reserve. They could be worth a little more. but if you want to sell them I would go less. Just to make sure, are they signed?

Greenacres,

Unfortunately, the weather here is NOT cooperating...been cloudy for days! Once the sun decides to show through, I'll take better pics outside with natural light.

To the best of my knowledge, none of the 25+ pieces have an actual signature. Some have maker marks like the "Kramer" or 925 for silver. Some have older pin clasps. Some have both pin clasps and a large "Hook" in order to hang the piece off a strand of pearls.

Once I get decent pics, I'll post here so I can get age estimates. As to price...

Don't know if we'll sell them; might hang on to them for the granddaughters.

Thanks!

I was just checking and prices are low. Still you have nice brooches. Don't just give them away cheap. There are so may you would really have to go thru them all.

I would have to see those backs. The clasp will date them.

I knew the clasps would help date them. My little Cyber-shot just couldn't handle a really tight closeup and keep it in focus.  Will try with my DSL when the sun shines!

Thanks for the help!
