Myself, I'd rather see a cross than a board.
Just a couple nice straight rustic branches with hewn ends, mounted together would work.

Mounting it on a Cross is just too "vanillany" in my opinion because there are zillions of them out there. I still ascribe to the "Odd n' Different" rule.

I was thinking more of something like this, to wit:

..it looks like the dogs dinner....and as for cogars..thoughts..w ell..in this instance..he,s got the taste of an ingin...Christ was on a cross....not a plank of wood....

That would be awesome!!!!  from head to toe 9",  fingertip to finger tip is 8".
