Antique? Dissected Specimen - T. Gerrard & Co

Hey guys,

Got a gross one for you this time.

I got a small collection of these all put in the same rectangle glass cases. Am having a hard time dating them besides finding a similar one online that was given a rough date of manufacture at 1930 although I've read information saying this company wasn't around at that time.

Thought I'd try my luck here

They were for school biology classes !! Several things here on the company !!

Yup I saw all that, but nothing to give an idea of how old these specimens are haha! Even the local museum here in Australia couldn't be sure. The other ones I have are easy due to the jars and what they were stored in but the glass case these are stored in aren't ones they've seen before thanks for your help though Mart!

Well the company was in business from 1880 till 1970`s,, they may have used a variety of containers or slides !! The value if any is in the specimen,, not necessarily the container its in !!

Yup but as I plan on selling a couple, knowing roughly when it was made does help haha. All good I'll keep scouring the internet until I find something similar.

Read a little past halfway down,, seems the taxidermy business and biology were all the same family !! It says that the move to Worthing was in the 60`s and since Worthing Rd is on the labeling,, it would be 60`s or after for your specimen !!
