guinea pigs vs mice
« on: June 29, 2014, 01:02:31 pm »
Hello,
I have a double sided print and would like any information on it.
It is on thick paper. One side is titled "Pinkie and Winkie and Wee", with guinea pigs in the picture.
The other side is a print of Happy Neddy, the donkey.
I learned that "Pinkie and Winkie and Wee", is a Beatrix Potter story. Her book has MICE instead if guinea pigs.
Anyone know why there is this difference?
Thank you for your help.
(My pictures did not load. Will try those again)

Thanks mart. I hope someone knows.
By the way,  is there a way to get rid of my duplicate posting? I already modified it requesting people see the real one "guinea pigs vs mice", but I can't delete the first/unwanted one.
Thanks!

Yepper, got the duplicates!  :)

Beatrix did draw guinea pigs...trying to research this!  Very Interesting....  Hold on to that and don't give up hope!

I know that Beatrix Potter did draw Guinea Pigs early on...but don't know if this has anything to do with Potter.

Now, Neddy the donkey has been written about by several people...all the books I could find just by starting off are:
Ethel Nokes (author) "That Ass Neddy"
Enid Blyton (author) "Neddy, The Little Donkey"

Interesting note:  The illustrator, Stanley Lloyd, did the illustrations for both Nokes and Blyton and was very popular for horses and donkeys.
