Anyone familiar with this Japanese script written on the arm rest. I was told it could the name of company that made it. The images are below and dimensions. Thanks in advance.

Being no expert, the characters look Chinese to me.  Pieces like this are common throughout Asia, so you're going to have to go off of the writing.  That's my guess, Chinese.  Maybe you can ask a Chinese or Japanese person to look at it??

I reduced the images on the server. I'm hoping you can view them if not I'm also attaching the images on this post. The one image that is important is the armrest one with the characters on it. Trying to figure out what it says. Thanks in advance.

I see a sakura tree. So I'm assuming Japanese. I will ask someone if they can translate it. If I come up with anything I will let you guys know. Thanks everyone.

Hi, the shape and technique of this piece look Chinese to me! I have no idea how old it is, but I think certainly not older than C 20th. The "plum blossom" appears also in Chinese art, not only in Japan. This kind of furniture is still being produced... The mother-of-pearl-inscription is certainly the maker's signature, as the last sign means "has made it". As to the name of the producer I cannot help you unfortunately...
