Mystery Art, Folk Art maybe?

Hello Everyone! Happy Friday!

Here are a couple of pieces that I have not been able to find anything like. I'm guessing it's some local Folk Art. The strange thing is, I got one from a clean out I did and gave it to a friend because she has one like it that she bought in a garage sale. They have no signature on the front. They are on some strange canvas or rough fibrous paper. I think it's paint but I really can't tell. They are no brush strokes. Any ideas?

Folk art is pretty hot as a rule so better check prices on those !! At least American folk art is !! Have never checked on Mexican folk art !!

I'm seeing a lot of them on ebay, very similar to these, for $10-20. Some even look like the same artist.
