Oriental vase
« on: August 19, 2014, 05:36:43 pm »
Hello everyone I have an oriental vase that has been passed down from my grandmother to my mother and now to me. We have very little information except that it is over 50yrs old. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. The stamp on the bottom is a little hard to read but I got the best picture I could.

Is the stamp in relief or is it inked ?? Most all things like this tell a story,, some are based on tales that are much older than the item it is painted on !! We have a couple of members that can possibly tell what the mark is if we can get a good enough pic !!  Can`t tell much about this one !!  Can you get it in a better light and take another pic tomorrow ??

The stamp is indented into the vase like it was done before it was fired. There are no ink markings :(

I tried several times to get one but the intentions are not deep enough to get a very clear rub, I guess my best bet would be to take it to an antique shop and see what they can make out :(

I'd agree that your little item is from the 20th century , but I sure don't recognize the mark (sorry 'bout that) .

I might suggest that you check out the list(s) of hallmarks at the nice website - gotheborg.com - to see if there's any matching ones there , Sweetlilred80 .
