Yes,, that is what it says in the title !! Have seen others that do that but for what reason I have no idea !!  I would remove it !! She does have the price in the description !!
Darn,, did not see those screws in any of the other pics !! That would make it a much later set !! That said however,,I think $250. is an OK price for one that new !! How about you KC ??  You keep up with things like this more than I do !!

Even though the lady you bought it from was in her 80`s,,a persons memory is very often inaccurate !! It may have been passed down but its when it was made/bought that's important !!

If anyone would pay that much for the set...run with it.

The enameling has some issues from what I can see of the pictures and this is a later piece.  I am not sure of the origins but it isn't what I have seen of quality French or European pieces.  That said, it is colorful/lovely and I am sure someone would want it for a reasonable price.
I'm from the South - but please don't mistake my Southern Manners/Accent/Charm as a weakness!

Hello again and thanks for all of everyones help.  The inkwell is missing the glass or porcelain liner. Just to clear up why people on CL post a price of 1.00 in the tittle is to gain interest and make them look. Than of coarse the asking price or make a offer would be in the description.. The elder lady in her 80's, yes I"m sure her memory isn't accurate! I know that I don't have a $800  inkwell set, just finding out where and when the piece was made is nice to know..again thank you for everyones help..  I will post a picture of the inkwell later on sometime later for you to view.
